RCG (which also owns Celebrity Cruises) homeported Celebrity Edge here, starting turnaround operations in 2018 (on December 1st). The new T25 terminal (in Hollywood FL) was officially inaugurated with the ship's arrival (on November 20th). An exclusive event was hosted at NSU's Oceanographic Center. Terminal 25 was redesigned and rebranded by Celebrity Cruises. For Terminal 25's new design was contracted the company "Bermello Ajamil and Partners".

Of the three ships, Harmony was the newest but also the biggest - even though by only 1 ft (30 cm) and 1700 tons. Harmony OTS was finishing her inaugural Transatlantic repositioning crossing. Hollywood Beach is another destination where you can enjoy the sun, sand and water. Although the location is slightly further from Port Everglades, the cruise port is still easily accessible from this high-end neighborhood. As home to Celebrity — and the fleet’s most modern ships — Port Everglades has a sleek terminal to go along with those vessels. Then you’ll sail from Terminal 4, the last cruise terminal in the Northport area and right next to the Convention Center.

When you reach 33rd Street and Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne, you will be at the closest point on the bus route to the cruise port. Call one of the three Bayonne cab companies to drive you to the cruise port, which is about three miles east of Kennedy Boulevard. Fort Lauderdale is a vibrant vacation destination on its own, but it's also one of the easiest home ports for embarking on a cruise. Port Everglades is so close to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport; it's a breeze to make your way from your flight to ship.
Meanwhile, the port is also extremely close to the Fort Lauderdale airport. The airport is just three miles away, or about 10 minutes. In other words you can fly in and be at your ship within an hour — even accounting for getting off the plane and getting to your ride. Farther away but still accessible are Miami International, just under 30 miles south, and Palm Beach International (PBI), which is 50 miles north. If you're traveling to Miami, look for flights on American, Delta, Frontier, Sun Country and United. From Palm Beach, fly Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southern Airways Express, Southwest, Spirit and United. Note that Port Everglades does not offer wheelchair service. If you need a wheelchair from the curb to ship, or parking lot to ship, contact your cruise line to make arrangements. Once through the CBP checkpoint, you’ll exit the terminal and find your transportation back to your hotel, airport, or home.
International flights must connect to one of these airlines in Miami. Check with the airline carrier for specific flight information. Marathon Airport is located roughly 120 miles south of Miami. Cruise line transfer shuttles are also often available to pre-book for passengers arriving by air on the same day of cruise departure. Passengers on cruises departing from Port Everglades will most often fly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, a mere six-minute journey. This class of cargo vessels can carry up to 10,500 TEU-containers each.
Be sure to properly label bags with the luggage tags issued by the cruise line. Port Everglades has a limited number of wheelchairs onsite. Instead, contact your cruise line ahead of time to let them know if you'll need wheelchair assistance for embarkation. The private Go Airport shuttle has a pick-up location with a small stand in front.
While we’ve used Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale interchangeably, they are not actually one in the same. Fort Lauderdale is the city where Port Everglades is located. Don’t worry, many people use the names to mean the same thing.
